The Gravy Train 4pm
The Gravy Train are: Justin Dwyer (guitar), Hugh Birkenhead (organ) and Ian Griffith (drums). The album is all original material and very reminiscent of artists like Soulive and John Schofield, Melvin Sparks, Boogaloo Joe Jones, as well as touching on some old school vibes straight out of New Orleans.
The band have been playing together for around 4 years and have already done some gigs supporting some big name acts including The Average White Band, The Haggis Horns and have worked with Cleveland Watkiss. The band also recently featured on BBC radio Three Counties in November last year on the Sue Marchent show. The band cut their teeth jamming with a host of visiting professional musicians and are heavily involved in the music scene in their hometown of Cambridge. Having enjoyed great success as a popular combo playing covers by John Scofield and Soulive, they decided to write original music in this kind of vibe. This album covers a wealth of diverse styles ranging from soulful ballads to dirty dance floor funk.
