Kelvin Davies, Stefano Minder & TJ Johnson quartet

Kelvin Davies 7PM

A traditional country blues and ragtime musician with a twist of British folk. Keeping the music and techniques of some of the great bluesmen from the 1920’s – 1940’s alive and strong, by opening new and old ears to a style almost forgotten.

Stefano Minder 8PM

Stefano Minder is a jazz singer and pianist. He is currently promoting his first self-produced album called ‘Love Through My Eyes.’ He grew up in a Swiss family in both Switzerland and Italy.
Stefano has studied with some of Europe’s best known jazz singers including Elisabetta Antonini and Maria Pia de Vito. Though interested in music since childhood, he pursued his professional course of study at the SLMC in Rome, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in jazz voice with minors in jazz piano, improvisation, jazz arrangement, and classical harmony. In September 2016 Stefano won an Erasmus scholarship and attended the Fall semester of the academic year 2016/2017 at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy in Leipzig, Germany.
Stefano has long been immersed in songwriting and exploring different music styles, but always comes back to jazz and soul. He devoted most of 2017 to producing his own music.

TJ Johnson quartet 10PM

Widely considered to be one of the UK’s finest jazz and blues singers

He is also an accomplished piano player, drummer and a respected bandleader. Always a true ambassador of the soul, TJ sings songs of love lost and gained, of life wholesome and corrupt, songs of hope, songs of the night, all with the true passion and boozy swagger of only a man who has been there and knows.
Backed by his group of top British musicians TJ plays an extraordinary blend of music that transcends the boundaries of jazz, blues, soul, country and gospel and is influenced by the likes of Ray Charles, Dr John, Louis Armstrong, Johnny Cash, BB King, Nina Simone, Alberta Hunter, Jimmy Witherspoon and many more. His distinctive voice and unique personal stage manner brings both the band and the audience together to create an intimate yet exciting atmosphere rarely equalled.
